Provisional World Cup Calendar

The calendars for the upcoming season were published after a meeting of the FIS skijumping committee in Zurich. They are still considered provsional because they have to be confirmed at the FIS Congress late May.

Grand Prix starts in Hinterzarten

Traditionally the Summer Grand Prix starts in Hinterzarten (GER), this year the first events will take place on August 7th and 8th. The competitions in Pragelato (ITA), Courchevel (FRA) and Einsiedeln (SUI) follow the opening.

The two Grand Prix competitions in Poland will be held late August in Wisla instead of Zakopane. After that the skijumping circuit will take the long trip to Japan. The Summer Grand Prix 2010 ends early October with the events in Liberec (CZE) and Klingenthal (GER).

World Cup Opening in Kuusamo

Like already in the last years the opening of the World Cup season 2010/11 will take place in Kuusamo (FIN). Main event of the season will be the Nordic World Championships in Oslo from February 22nd to March 6th, 2011.

Other highlights are the 4-Hills-Tournament, the FIS Team Tour as well as the four weekends with skifyling events. The World Cup final late March will again be held at the world's largest hill in Planica (SLO).

More prize money in Harrachov

The trend is on the up again concerning the prize money in skijumping. The Czech Ski Association is the first organizer of a skijumping World Cup to double the price money for the top three athletes at the skijumping events in Harrachov.

Dec. 28/29: Oberstdorf

Dec. 31/Jan. 1: Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Jan. 2/3: Innsbruck

Jan. 5/6: Bischofshofen
